  • Bachelor Boys (Lemur Catta)

Confiscated by the authorities after a zoo was closed down.

Spot (dob. unknown) arrived at Lakeview with suspected brain and spinal damage after running into plexi glass during his removal from the zoo. At the time, it was thought that Spot would need to be euthanised, but the veterinarian decided to give him a chance and send him to Lakeview. Upon arrival, it was clear he had some problems with his coordination and balance, leaning to one side as he moved around. Unfortunately, Spot suffered a stroke but it is miraculous that he has come through all this to be able to live life as a lemur again, moving without issue and socialising with the other boys in their adjacent cages.

Gizmo (dob. unknown) has severe psychological and aggression issues, which cause him to become stressed by humans. After being hand reared before living in sub-standard conditions for many years in a zoo, he now has peace and tranquillity and it is hoped that in time, he becomes calm now that he is not on constant public display.

Tsito (dob. unknown) was removed from the same zoo as the other bachelor boys but he was sent to a further education college with his family group. After the break down of the group, Tsito was left needing a home. Although his photograph was sent to many animal collections, nobody wanted him. His luck then changed, when he came to live at Lakeview Monkey Sanctuary.
